TOGETHER IN HOPE: IMPLEMENTING THE EARTH CHARTER
Abstract
The Earth Charter is a UN-inspired Declaration of 16 Principles and 61 sub-principles for a ‘just, sustainable and peaceful global society’, which was drafted following the UN Earth Summit of 1992 and published during the Millennium in 2000. This introduction to its contents and ethos stresses the urgent and far-reaching change that is necessary at every level—individual, organisational and national—and the need to reconnect with the sacred and the spiritual.
