The Indexer: The International Journal of Indexing
Using NoteStripper with DEXembed
Abstract
DEXembed, a Microsoft Word add-in for embedding indexes, cannot generate the paragraph numbers it uses as locators for linked endnotes and footnotes. NoteStripper, from the same developer, strips linked notes to text, thereby allowing DEXembed to generate paragraph numbers for the notes. But do NoteStripper, DEXembed and Word all work together to produce an embedded index? Ælfwine Mischler reports on her attempts to generate an embedded index using these programs.
