Abstract

Han Chunlei describes the development of the National Index to Chinese Newspapers and Periodicals (NICNP) over the past 60 years, from its paper-based beginning to the current online version. He describes the criteria for inclusion in the database, and discusses the advantages and disadvantages of different access modes.
