Marxism and cognitive science

Theory & Struggle (2018), 119, (1), 93–99.

Abstract

How can we understand human cognition — how we perceive, remember, interact, plan, speak, behave, attend, calculate, and so on? What can Marxists bring to cognitive science? This article first summarises the Marxist approach, then explores some cutting-edge claims in academic cognitive science, and finally presents some novel proposals within the Marxist tradition.
