The Indexer: The International Journal of Indexing (1970), 37, (3), 233–239.

Abstract

The procedure used to provide page numbers for a verbatim translated index is discussed. The difficulties encountered while compiling such an index are explained and, with this experience in mind, the author strongly argues against this method, and in favour of indexing from scratch.
